There is no doubt that the Egyptian Museum is one of the most important attractions in Cairo, as it contains thousands and thousands of artifacts dating back to different eras. Start with the pre-historical era, going through the Old kingdom, Middle Kingdom, New Kingdom, as well as the Greco-Roman period.
The most famous treasures in the museum belong to the boy king Tutankhamun as the Ancient Egyptians called him.
Among Tutankhamun's treasures you will see the golden coffin, the famous golden mask, and many other treasures.
An optional part of the tour is to see the Royal Mummies room, which is slightly extra cost. But it is a fabulous highlight as the mummies are from the time of Ramesis II who most believe was the Pharoah of Mentioned in Exodus. There is an animal mummy room as well.
One of the most magnificent pieces in the Museum is the only statue known of Cheops, the builder of the Great Pyramid.
Your qualified Egyptologist guide will introduce you to the most important pieces before allowing you free time to explore at your own leisure.
This is a private tour allowing you to determine the amount of time spend at the museum.
